Heianorsk has no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.

Your voice stays on your phone

When you speak, the app records audio only to score your pronunciation. The scoring runs on your phone. Recordings are not uploaded and are deleted when you leave the scene.

What the app stores

Your settings (language, town, situations, reminders) and your progress (scenes played, stars, streak) are stored on your phone. On Android, this progress file can be included in your own Google backup, so it comes back on a new phone. You can export it as a file and delete it with "Start over" in Settings.

What the app downloads

On first use, the app downloads the pronunciation model, and later the scene packs you unlock, from api.heianorsk.ried.no. These downloads contain no personal data. Our server sees the request like any web server does (IP address, time) and keeps no profile of you.

Purchases

Unlocking the full app is handled by Google Play or the App Store. We receive a confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.

Children

Heianorsk is made for adults learning Norwegian. Some scenes include alcohol, dating or nudity at a sauna; you can hide those in Settings.
